According to the rumor mill, it has been speculated that since the main story of the current iteration has players determine the fate of some of the characters, the next "Grand Theft Auto" installment will feature a whole new story with new characters. However, since it is also rumored that Rockstar Games is taking their time in developing "Grand Theft Auto VI," confirmed details are sketchy at best, and observers can only count on fan predictions and wish lists.

According to Latin Post, Rockstar Games has been introducing stars in "Grand Theft Auto" games since the start of the series, although the stars only appear as support characters. However, the "GTA VI" title will change all that, as it is speculated that A-listers Ryan Gosling and Eva Mendes will be appearing as main protagonists. The rumor also appears in a report from NeuroGadget, which adds that Gosling has already agreed to play a part in the upcoming "Grand Theft Auto" project.

As for Mendes, it has been teased by Rockstar's Dan Houser that future installments may have a female lead. If the rumor about her joining Gosling is true, she will be the first female lead in all of the "GTA" titles.
