PS Vita gamers have been enjoying "Gravity Rush" since 2012. Last February, the remastered version was released to the PlayStation 4. Now, fans are in for another treat as "Gravity Rush 2" is expected to launch this year, equipped with new gravity-shifting options. However, the sequel will be just for the PlayStation 4.

The PlayStation blog previously announced that "Gravity Rush 2" will arrive exclusively for the PlayStation 4 and will be featuring a new combat mechanic and three gravity styles.

"In the sequel to the acclaimed PS Vita original, you'll have brand new gravity-shifting options and combat mechanics at your disposal. Kat can now use three gravity styles that add more variety and combat options: Normal, Lunar, and Jupiter," the announcement said.

The new Lunar style will have less gravity force, which will make Kat, the main protagonist of the game, lighter, and will let her move faster than normal. While the Jupiter gravity effect brings the opposite, slowing her down but can offer more devastating attacks. Players can switch between the gravity style options in real time, depending on the situations during game play.

A new Tag Battle system will also be incorporated into the soon-to-be-released game. The system will try to pair the player with an AI-controlled sidekick to take down opponents that are more powerful. Another character, named Raven, can offer her assistance, as always.

The blog post also contains a message from the game director, Toyama-san, who said, "As you saw from the footage during the Paris Games Week press conference, you'll be able to mix and match a wide variety of combat styles any way you want, so there'll be enough action to please Gravity veterans and new players alike. And of course, there's a whole lot more we haven't shown you yet, so stay tuned!"

No exact release date is currently available for the sequel. Sony has been keeping the game under wraps but fans are speculating that additional information may be revealed at the upcoming Electronic Entertainment Expo, happening next month.

For the meantime, those interested can purchase "Gravity Rush" for the PS Vita or "Gravity Rush Remastered" for the PlayStation 4.
