The Green Bay Packers might get the best of running back Eddie Lacy anytime soon as head coach Mike McCarthy told the media last Wednesday that the 2013 Pro Bowler is no longer plagued by his ankle injury.

Lacy was suffering from an ankle injury early in the 2015 regular season but has not missed any game playing in all six so far, which include five starts.

"He looks good just watching him work out Monday in the individual stuff. I don't think the injury is affecting him anymore," McCarthy said regarding Lacy's injury, as reported by Ryan Wood of the Press-Gazette Media.

Despite the injury, the 25-year-old running back has been playing fine for Green Bay this 2015, having 67 carries for 260 yards and one touchdown.

Last season, Lacy played in all 16 regular season games for the Packers, having 246 carries for 1,139 yards and nine touchdowns.

NBC Sports' Pro Football Talk suggested in its report that the Packers' bye week in Week 7 may have contributed to Lacy's great recovery from the injury.

Following their sixth consecutive win this season over the San Diego Chargers on Oct. 18, the bye week gave the Packers ample time to rest and get ready against another unbeaten squad in the Denver Broncos.

Green Bay will be taking on Peyton Manning and the Broncos this Sunday when it returns to action in Week 8.

McCarthy also spoke about their matchup with the Broncos and is looking forward to the opportunity of going 7–0 this season.

Green Bay's head coach addressed as well the Broncos' defense, which is one of the biggest factors why the team is still undefeated and mentioned its defensive coordinator Wade Phillips.

In other Packers injury news, Lacy's fellow running back James Starks missed his second consecutive practice last Wednesday due to his hip injury, according to a report by the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel.

Starks suffered the injury during their Week 6 win over the Chargers. The Packers have yet to release information regarding his status for Sunday's clash with the Broncos.
