The Green Bay Packers lost against the Minnesota Vikings last Sunday to end the season and set a Wildcard Playoff game versus the Washington Redskins. Despite the defeat, head coach Mike McCarthy is optimistic.

Following the game, McCarthy said the loss was disappointing as they did not do enough to seal the win.

He added, however, according to Packers.com, "We need to turn the page. The playoff season is here. We know how to win. We know what it takes to win."

McCarthy also stated, "We know how to score points here. We need to do a better job. It's going to be important come Sunday night in Washington."

Green Bay struggled mightily against the Vikings and was trailing 20–3 entering the fourth quarter, the period in which they rallied but came up short.

It was evident during the game against Minnesota that the Packers' key offensive players were struggling, an issue they need to address before taking on Washington this Sunday.

Packers franchise quarterback Aaron Rodgers had 28 completions for 291 yards and one touchdown, also throwing for an interception and was sacked five times.

Rodgers only connected with tight end Richard Rodgers in the fourth quarter for the Packers' only touchdown in the game.

The Packers' leading rusher, running back Eddie Lacy, still led the rushing department in the game but only had 13 carries for 34 yards.

Lacy is currently in a slump and in their last three regular season games including two consecutive defeats to close the season, he was having less than 15 carries and was unable to rush for 100 yards in each game.

Rodgers and Lacy are crucial to the Packers' offense and they need to return to their hundred percent when they face the Redskins if they hope to advance.

Along with their struggles on offense, the Packers must also surpass the challenge of playing on the road for their Wildcard Playoff duel with Washington.
