After revealing that he is very interested in portraying the role of the Green Lantern on the big screen, R&B singer/ actor Tyrese Gibson confirmed that he already talked with the Warner Bros. bosses to discuss his possible involvement in the film. 

"I've already had a couple of meetings at Warner Bros., so we'll see what happens," the actor exclusively told Collider during the recently concluded "Furious 7" Blu-ray release press junket in Abu Dhabi. 

The Grammy-nominated artist also explained why he is serious about portraying the role of the DC Comics superhero in a movie. According to Gibson, there should be more black superheroes portrayed onscreen. But that is not his main motivation at the moment. 

"I think I would be the best Green Lantern and based on my fans and supporters that spent around $6 billion in box office receipts, I feel like there's a fanbase of fans out there waiting to see me put on this green suit and do my thing," the 36-year-old actor/ musician said. 

Reports about Gibson's possible involvement in the "Green Lantern" reboot began early this year, after the actor posted the artwork made by a fan back in January on his Instagram account. The actor was shown wearing the Green Lantern costume of John Stewart, DC Comics' first black superhero and one of the most famous members of the Green Lantern Corps. 

However, Gibson also implied that there is no formal agreement that has been achieved as of his last meeting with Warner execs.

"I would love to confirm something today but I can't. We'll just keep following up," the actor said. 

Aside from Gibson, rumors are also rife regarding the possibility of bringing the other Green Lantern character Hal Jordan in the upcoming reboot of the 2011 "Green Lantern" film starring Ryan Reynolds. According to reports, Reynolds has no intention of returning to the franchise, and actor Chris Pines, according to rumors, might take over his role.  

The "Green Lantern" reboot is slated to premiere sometime in 2020.
