This week on "Grey's Anatomy," Penny (Samantha Sloyan) gets tired of Meredith (Ellen Pompeo) treating her differently than the other residents and lashes out at her, while Owen (Kevin McKidd) has a problem with Grey Sloan's new doctor, Nathan (Martin Henderson).

In the promo for the Nov. 12 episode titled "Something Against You," Callie asks Meredith why Penny has been doing mundane tasks when she is a third year resident and should be with them for the surgery. Callie said that Penny should be with them when they do the skull transplant because that is the learning opportunity and that she deserves a chance to see it.

Penny looks embarrassed as her girlfriend stands up for her. "Callie," Penny says, while shaking her head.

Meredith says that they talked about this and that Penny needs to be where she needs her to be. Callie argues that she doesn't need Penny to be with the donor.

"What for? Why are you doing this? What, do you just want her to sit there and think about what happened to Derek?" asks Callie.

She seems to hit a sore point as Meredith sighs, and it looks like she still hasn't forgotten that Penny was not able to save Derek's life.

Penny seems to have had enough as she tells Callie that she's embarrassing her, and she tells her girlfriend that nobody has said anything so she should stay out of it.

Callie leaves in a huff, and as Meredith is about to tell Penny to do something, Penny stops her and says that Callie is right.

"I'm here to learn. I want to learn, but you have to teach me," Penny says. "Treat me like any other resident—treat me worse, I don't care. Hate me, yell at me, I can handle it!"

Penny reminds Meredith that she told her not to quit, but she isn't giving her a chance to prove herself.

"If you can't do what you are here to do, then please let me go," says Penny.

"Grey's Anatomy" airs Thursdays at 8 p.m. on ABC.
