"Grey's Anatomy" season 12 is reportedly bringing in A-listers into the show starting with Denzel Washington.

TV Line first reported that Washington will be joining the Shonda Rhimes' group — not as a guest star but a director for one episode.

According to the report, the "The Equalizer" star will take on the director's seat for episode 9, which will be written by Stacy McKee.

Episode filming will start within this month and is slated to air sometime in November.

Directing is nothing new to the 60-year-old actor as he already did so in a couple of big screen projects, but "Grey's Anatomy" will be his first ever directing stint for television.

Denzel Washington is not the only famous name to be associated with the medical drama series.

TV Line also reported that season 12 will bring more changes, especially when it comes to its cast.

Several familiar names in the industry will also be joining in the future episodes. The news outlet confirmed that "Forever's" Ioan Gruffudd and "Fargo's" Patrick Wilson will make appearances.

However, the characters these famous personalities will be portraying have not been revealed.

Another star reported to join the series is "Safe Haven's" Josh Duhamel, who will be appearing in one episode, Design&Trend reported.

Eric Mabius, Scott Speedman, and Matthew Goode were also included in the list of familiar big screen faces who may guest star in future episodes of the TV series.

Meanwhile, the latest episode of "Grey's Anatomy" season 12 just aired last Oct. 15 and fans got to know about Stephanie's (Jerrika Hinton) backstory.

It was revealed that Stephanie underwent clinical trials for sickle cell anemia for several years during her childhood years, and such brought a significant impact on her life.

The same episode also showed how Meredith (Ellen Pompeo), Amelia (Caterina Scorsone), and Maggie (Kelly McCreary) completely forgot about their planned dinner party.

As for the upcoming episode, which bears the title "Guess Who's Coming to Dinner?" it is expected that it will feature awkward situations faced by characters, especially given that Arizona's (Jessica Capshaw) ex, Callie (Sara Ramirez), will be in attendance with her new girlfriend, who could be introduced to the doctors.

As stated in the official synopsis from ABC, "Arizona nervously waits to find out more about Callie's new girlfriend."

"Grey's Anatomy" season 12 airs every Thursday at 8 p.m. EST on ABC.
