'Grey's Anatomy' season 13 spoilers: Arizona finds love elsewhere after Jessica Capshaw comes back from break

Dr. Arizona Robbins will be nowhere near the Grey Sloan Memorial Hospital in the beginning of "Grey's Anatomy" season 13.

Series creator Shonda Rhimes told Entertainment Weekly that actress Jessica Capshaw will have to miss out on the first couple of episodes of the upcoming season.

"Jessica was very, very delightfully pregnant at the end of last year, and so she's not in the first two episodes — which everybody brace yourselves for — because she's taking a little bit of time off for kids, but then she's back," Rhimes stated.

But when the actress returns after her short break, the series creator teased that fans of the long-running medical drama series will finally see Capshaw's character Arizona find a new love after her ex-wife Callie Torrez (Sara Ramirez) left for New York.

"I'm very excited to introduce a love interest for her, and to get to tell a story with her that lets her be who she is, and to see who she is post the relationships that she's had," Rhimes added.

Meanwhile, Caterina Scorsone told The Hollywood Reporter that something big will happen at the start of season 13.

According to the actress, "a big explosive drama" will happen immediately after her character Amelia and Owen's (Kevin McKidd) wedding, but it does not have anything to do with the couple. However, it does not mean that it will be a literal explosion. "It's going to be a key story this year that a lot of people are going to be interested in," Scorsone said.

Does it have something to do with the looming love triangle between Meredith (Ellen Pompeo), her half-sister Maggie (Kelly McCreary) and Riggs (Martin Henderson)? Or will fans discover that Riggs' former fiancée and Owen's sister Megan is still alive?

"Grey's Anatomy" season 13 premieres on Thursday, Sept. 22, on ABC.
