Grey's Anatomy season 13 spoilers: Nathan and Owen may finally bury the hatchett

Meredith Grey (Ellen Pompeo) in Grey's Anatomy season 12ABC

How many TV shows have made it past season 10? Very few, we believe. Even the most-loved sitcom, F.R.I.E.N.D.S, had to wrap it up at season 10. And yet, here we are, waiting eagerly for the 22nd of September. According to Parent Herald, that's when Grey's Anatomy's season 13 is all set to premier on the small screen.

So what does this season have in store for fans? Season 12 set the platform for what will happen this September. Meredith Grey, the character that lends its name to the show's title, spent most of the last season getting over the death of her husband, Dr. Derek Shepherd. Along with Grey, millions of fans were heartbroken to witness the demise of her one, true love.

But then, Dr. Nathan Riggs came along. And Meredith bantered, flirted, and finally ended up sleeping with him at the end of season 12. In an interview to TV Line, Martin Henderson, who plays Dr. Riggs, revealed that the two doctors could move past a fling into a relationship that's intense, but fun too.

Henderson went on to give us more hope, stating that Nathan and Owen, who haven't been on the best of terms for quite a while now, may bury the hatchet this season. Fans, we're sure, cannot wait for this to happen. The two doctors were once the best of friends, and it's time Grey's Anatomy rekindled their bromance.

Another couple who may walk a little bit into the sunshine is April and Jackson. Their epic romance, where April ditched her fiancĂ©, Matthew, at the altar, and went on to marry Jackson, is hard to forget. But then, the tides turned, and the two have been estranged for a long time now, having divorced at the beginning of April's pregnancy. Parent Herald gives us some good news, stating that the two could reconcile this season.

All in all, it looks like season 13 is going to be lighter and happier. And the doctors in the story definitely deserve their time in the sun.
