"Grimm" season 4 ended with Nick (David Giuntoli) losing his mother and his girlfriend Juliette (Bitsie Tulloch) turned into a Hexenbiest before she was eventually killed. According to a report from TVInsider, this will drive Nick into a darker state of mind and will now become completely obsessed with revenge.

"He's gone rogue. He no longer cares about police protocol," said Giuntoli in the report. "He starts the season in an extremely dark place, the exact opposite of how we met him at the start of the series, where he was 99 percent cop and 1 percent Grimm. Now he's 99 percent Grimm and out for revenge against the Wesen world."

Giuntoli also stated that Nick no longer cares about his job as a cop and that for the first episode he will focus his quest for vengeance on one person in particular. However, despite the strong focus on vengeance and the darker shift in tone, the premiere episode will also focus on Juliette's funeral and the birth of Adalind (Claire Coffee) and Nick's child.

The actor also confirmed that Juliette was indeed staying dead. He explained that they have already shot several episodes for season 5 with no signs of Juliette making a comeback, indicating that her season 4 death is final. He also explained the importance of this death in that it informs the audience that the stakes are real and that the characters aren't capable of magically surviving everything.

As for his relationship with Adalind, the actor stated that the baby is what will keep Nick "grounded" and is what prevents him from "lopping off his own hand."

However, a separate report from TV Insider indicates that Adalind will experience complications during labor that will further strain her relationship with Nick. He will reach the hospital just in time, however, ensuring that both mother and child will make it.

"Grimm" season 5 premieres this Oct. 30.
