NBC just released via TV Line a bunch of new promotional photos for "Grimm" season 5. Majority of the photos feature the characters showing signs of terror, shock, and anger on their faces. There's one showing Meisner and Trubel brawling, but there's another image that stands out.

One of the photos sees Adalind and Nick on the verge of kissing. Adalind's face is just an inch away from the Nick's. Not much of Nick's expression was shown but Adalind can be seen looking lovingly into Nick's eyes as she appears to lean in for a kiss.

TV Line believes that Nick and Adalind will get cozy when "Grimm" season 5 returns. A couple of months back, David Giuntoli told the publication that a romance between the two might be developed in "slow burn" style.

At the start of the season, Nick was in no way in the proper condition to find new love. By the end of season 4, he was dealing with Juliette's demise and eventual disappearance, as well as his mother's brutal fate.

Things in "Grimm" season 5 have gone crazier from there. Warfare orchestrated by the Wesen has gone worldwide, Trubel came back, and in the surprising last moments of the fall finale, Juliette's badass, emotionless doppelganger Eve showed up.

While all this is taking place, Nick found time to become a father to his and Adalind's son. As fans will remember, Adalind, after copying Juliette's appearance, slept with Nick and got pregnant. This unforgettable deceit makes Nick and Adalind's almost kiss in the images all the more surprising.

Whatever leads to this tender moment will be revealed in the "Grimm" season 5 episode 2 called "The Return." The first episode airing Jan. 29, will be called "Eve of Destruction," which will delve into the story of Juliette's deadly short-haired twin.
