GTA 5 for PS4, Xbox One and PC could be launched Nov. 18

Grand Theft Auto V for PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and Microsoft Windows PC is scheduled to be released this fall. Rockstar Games has not made an official announcement about when the much-anticipated versions will be released, but leaks indicate that it could happen on Nov. 18.

In a report by IGN, online retailer Newegg listed the new versions as available for pre-order and said they will be released on Nov. 18. The listings have since been removed.

Nevertheless, game developer Rockstar promises that it will use the platforms' resources to provide the unique experience that GTA has been known for.

"Grand Theft Auto V will take full advantage of the power of the PlayStation 4, Xbox One and PC with across-the-board graphical and technical improvements to deliver a stunning new level of detail," the company said in its announcement last June. "Increased draw distances, finer texture details, denser traffic, and enhanced resolutions all work together to bring new life to the cities, towns, deserts and oceans of Rockstar North's epic reimagining of Southern California."

The game features third-person game play. In the single-player mode, players control three characters – Michael De Santa, Trevor Philips and Franklin Clinton. Set in fictional Los Santos and Blaine County, players move in a virtual world complete with wildlife, weather changes, jobs, stock markets, and more. Furthermore, it can be integrated with Grand Theft Auto Online, so players can transfer their characters to these platforms.

The GTA V for PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360 was released in September last year, and was hailed as the fastest-selling entertainment product in history. On its first day alone, it earned $800 million; and it earned $1 billion in only three days. It has sold more than 33 million copies, and won numerous awards including User Choice Award at the PlayStation Awards in 2013, Best British Game from BAFTA, and Best Xbox 360 Multiplayer from IGN among many others.
