'GTA 5' Liberty City DLC release a hoax?

The hype behind a leak claiming that a Liberty City expansion in the form of downloadable content will be coming to "Grand Theft Auto 5" has died out after the very same tipster posted about being wrong about the release of the DLC.

One of the most reliable "GTA" tipsters, Funmw2, posted a retraction in GTA Forums on a leak claiming that Liberty City would be coming to "GTA 5." The post reads "Looks like my source was wrong about this week regarding getting new info about SP DLC I will try to check if he can get more pictures."

This forum post followed a tweet also posted by Funmw2 claiming that Rockstar is planning to bring Liberty City to "GTA 5." The tweet went on to say "Prepare yourself to come back to Liberty City. Next week is what will decide whether it's legit of fake. Can't wait." The excitement behind the tip was just further fueled when Rockstar Newswire announced a contest where winners could win a customized "Liberty City Stories" for the iPad Mini and iPhone 6 Plus.

Those rumors were shot down, however, when the leak was taken back by Funmw2. However, given the reliability of the tipster, there is also a possibility that the leak was just wrong about the Liberty City expansion coming this week and could possibly come at a later time.

Liberty City is a fictitious city map created for "Grand Theft Auto," based on the city of New York. The map has appeared in "Grand Theft Auto IV," "Grand Theft Auto," "Grand Theft Auto III" and "Grand Theft Auto: Liberty City Stories." The terrain is divided into four boroughs subcategorised into 65 neighbourhoods. The names of the boroughs are named Algonquin, Broker, Dukes and Bohan.

Rockstar still plans to release more downloadable content for "GTA 5," and there is no telling what the game developer could be releasing next to its gamers.
