The release date of "Grand Theft Auto 5's" Christmas downloadable content (DLC) may have just been accidentally leaked.

The leaked info regarding the Christmas DLC's release date appears to have originated from Rockstar itself, but was spotted by well-known tipster "MrBossFTW."

According to the tipster, Rockstar's recent post about their Festive Surprise Snapmatic photo contest contained some details that the game's developer may not have wanted to reveal just yet.

Apparently, the terms of the conditions of the actual contest contained when the event would actually take place, and this, as "MrBossFTW" points out, is also the likely duration window for the game's Christmas DLC.

The information spotted by the noted tipster indicated that the Festive Surprise Snapmatic photo contest would be running from the very start of Dec. 21 all the way up to the very last minute of Jan. 5, the International Business Times UK reported.

Interestingly, Rockstar has reportedly stricken the duration date from the post, although it's likely to go back up again any time now, given that the starting day of the event is expected to begin soon if the leak is proven to be accurate.

Fans will now have to wait for just a little while longer to see if the Christmas goodies are indeed coming soon.

This year's Chrismas DLC for "Grand Theft Auto 5" is expected to be known as "Festive Surprise 3.0," and it's bringing quite a few new items to the game.

First off, according to Express UK, the new update is expected to deliver its share of holiday-themed items, such as Christmas trees and a variety of mask designs.

"Festive Surprise 3.0" might also be introducing a new vehicle to the game.

The Tampa muscle car that has appeared in earlier "Grand Theft Auto" games is expected to show up once more in the holiday update.

"Grand Theft Auto 5" players will likely find out more about the Christmas DLC coming to the game very soon.
