When will Grant Theft Auto 6 (GTA 6) really come out? With no official word from Rockstar Games to date, all gamers have to rely on right now are the rumors being spread around which are mostly speculations.

There is word of a 2017 release but also one in 2018. Much of this was based on presumptions.

Like in the case of the 2018 release, there are some who believe this would be the year to watch for the GTA 6, something based on launch dates from previous GTA versions (GTA 3 and GTA 4).

Now aside from that, there are some murmurs on which gaming console GTA 6 would come out first. The PlayStation 4 is believed to be the first one to have GTA 6 though that remains to be confirmed. There are some who even believe that it will be made solely for the PS4 though that could probably be a bogus idea considering that the Xbox has its share of users wanting to get their hands on the game.

Another rumor states that the lead character will be a female. If this holds true, it will be the first time for the franchise since the past versions had male stars at the helm.

Then there is the matter of the cities that GTA 6 will cover. Apparently many are hoping that GTA 6 will offer more explorable cities which means that Rockstar may have to find a way to fit in a city or two which may eventually tie up all the cities that the previous GTA versions had already showcased.

Those rumors are certainly pretty sensible but for now, none have been confirmed. The apparent focus of Rockstar Games right now is GTA Online.

Rockstar Games president Leslie Benzies did mention that they have some ideas on what GTA 6 could bring but for now, none of them provide a clearer view, again emphasizing that the main focus at the moment is GTA Online.
