Fans who were disappointed that there was no new information released about Grand Theft Auto 6 during the E3 2016 should not lose hope as Rockstar Games assured that they will be focusing on the game after they complete all of the releases for GTA 5.

According to a report from Game N Guide, there are rumors that GTA 6 will be announced at the E3 conference in 2017 instead. There is a possibility that a 2018 launch is also being considered.

However, it is more likely for the game's actual release to be around 2020.

Meanwhile, even as the game continues to explore and expand maps within US borders, fans are clamoring for overseas maps as well to make the game even more exciting.

"These days I think we would love to set a game in the UK, set in London, whatever, but I don't know if it would be a GTA game," Rockstar Games' Dan Houser said to The Guardian.

Among the top areas in the fans' wishlist are London, Moscow and Rio de Janeiro.

Most recently, GTA 5 Cheats proposed the idea of focusing on a dual lead scenario instead of many protagonists for the game to develop the characters further.

It also suggested the creation of a Manila map and making the Philippine capital the setting of GTA 6.

The site suggested a dual lead approach which could feature a vigilante and a drug dealer in the Philippines since the war against drugs is a hot issue in the country.

Focusing on a Manila map can also boost the Asian market of the game. It was reported by Parent Herald that a Japan map was considered by the studio but the road system in Japan proved to be too complicated to adapt into a game.
