Rockstar Games, which developed the "Grand Theoft Auto" series of games, is still not providing any updates on the sixth installment, according to Christian Times. Rumors strongly suggest that the said game might not even be mentioned at the Electronic Entertainment Expo event for this year. Vine Report mentions that instead, the company may announce something related to the "Red Dead: Redemption" series of games. Rockstar greatly favors this game over the others and may instead release something related to it. 

BreatheCast reports that following previous release patterns, this new game will be released around 2018, since there is a five-year gap in between games. This will also mean it will be released alongside Microsoft's Xbox Two and Sony's PS5, or possibly at the same time.

This means fans can assume that the game will be playable on said consoles. However, Rockstar has yet to provide any announcements or confirmations regarding this piece of information. 

Other rumors suggest that the "GTA 6" game will be using a female's narrative, along with a location set in Oklahoma. This is mainly due to the city being one of the most dangerous locations in the U.S., which fits with the game's theme of violence and crime.

Ecumenical News mentions that another circulating rumor suggests that it will be set in Tokyo, Japan instead, since Rockstar reportedly already sent investigators and workers to gather images and information from the Eastern nation. However, this was long discontinued. 

Karl Slatoff, the president of Take-Two Interactive, the owner of Rockstar, once also reiterated in an interview that he cannot assure fans they will release a new installment every year for any of the popular franchises under their name. This includes the "Grand Theft Auto" games. This is because they would rather avoid making the mistake of "franchise fatigue" with their popular games, which they are not creating for pure profit. They would prefer to deliver quality over quantity.
