'GTA V' DLC release news: 'Lowlife' rumored for August launch

There is a prevailing rumor that August will see the release of a "Lowlife" or "Lowrider" DLC package for "Grand Theft Auto V." According to a report from the IBTimes, this release window is based on a study of Rockstar Games' previous release schedules for DLC packages in 2014 and 2015.

Users on the "GTA V" forums have reportedly noticed a similarity with the release of DLC content in 2014 and those released this year. The report cites that there is a big correlation between the "Festive Update" and the "Christmas" DLC and then another correlation between the "Business Update" and the "High-Life" DLC.

It is speculated that the "Lowlife" DLC will be the 2015 equivalent of the "Hipster" DLC pack. If this proves true, then the new expansion may give out up to 12 new vehicles, new outfits, and accessories. There is also speculation that the stunt racing and stunt challenge creator additions will be integrated into the "Lowlife" DLC.

According to forum user funmw2, as cited by iDigital Times, the new DLC pack may be a combination of the "Flight School" update and the "Hipster" update, particularly the new mission types from the former and new vehicles from the latter.

"It's my speculation," the forum user states. "Because if you take a look at 'Ill-Gotten Gains,' it's actually one update but have two parts so its a combination of 'High Life' update and 'Business' update. The same thing could happen with this 'Low' update."

Rockstar Games has not made any official statement regarding these rumors and the developers have not yet issued any official announcement regarding their DLC release schedule for the rest of 2015. While the rumors of a "Lowlife" DLC may be true, there is also the possibility that Rockstar Games has no such DLC in the works at all.
