'GTA V' DLC news: Story-based add-on DLC reportedly in the works

Rockstar

"GTA" fans have so much to look forward to, including the long-promised PC version of "Grand Theft Auto V" and the hotly-anticipated "Heists" DLC. But game developer Rockstar seems to have more tricks up its sleeves, one of which is an alleged story-based DLC that will allow players to get to know Trevor, Michael and Franklin more than their crime spree.

The add-on, which is centered on single-player gameplay, was first hinted by voice actor Shawn Fonteno, the voice behind Franklin. Last year, he revealed to The Inquisitr that he will again lend his voice to the character for a certain expansion pack tailored for "GTA V."

Although Rockstar is mum about the rumor, the developer already expressed its interest in coming up with a DLC with narrative content. It also managed to release packs with the same theme so there is a chance that it will do that again. Other speculations are way ahead, saying that the story-based DLC will be made exclusive to current-gen consoles.

In other "GTA V" DLC news, it is only a matter of time before "Heists" rolls out. March is the month gamers will get the communal crime bender missions they have been fervently wishing for. But before Rockstar gets it out, the game studio promises a big update to highlight the DLC, and that includes player-versus-player modes, daily objectives and new free roam activities.

Daily objectives allow gamers to amass more in-game cash. Players will have to participate in a string of challenges with fixed three objectives offered each day. Stacking challenges can rake in as much as $500,000. Free Roam is more on the single-player characters, with a range of new activities that involve sidetracking the authorities and razing vehicles or even planes.

Lastly, there will be three new PvP modes namely Come Out to Play, Siege Mentality and Hasta La Vista, all of which promising intense gunfire, high-speed pursuits and crime galore. All these goodies will be in gamers' hands starting March 10. "GTA V" for PC will be out on April 14.
