There is a myth among die-hard fans of the "Grand Theft Auto" franchise, particularly with the latest installment, that one of the hidden gems in the game is Sasquatch, also known as Bigfoot. However, players haven't encountered the elusive character – until now.

According to reports, the newest update for "Grand Theft Auto V" not only brought improvements, tweaks, and new features to the game; it also unlocked one of the most sought-after characters in the franchise.

Aside from the new Rockstar Editor mode being unlocked for the Xbox One and PlayStation 4 versions of the game, as well as fixes for the PC title, the new Freemode Events update also introduced a new trophy for all three versions. The new achievement, dubbed the Cryptozoologist trophy, can be achieved by unlocking all the animals for use in the Director Mode, which can be done by collecting peyote plants from all in-game locations.

But achieving the trophy may lead to other discoveries, as was found out by a Reddit user, who pointed out the Achievement's tag, "You unlocked all animals for use in Director Mode... or did you?"

Meanwhile, another Reddit user, rkRusty, discovered that the tag for the achievement pertains to a hidden golden peyote, to be found in the Chiliad State Wilderness. This special plant is also the key to unlocking Bigfoot.

According to industry observer IGN, uncovering the mystery behind Sasquatch will make players transform into Bigfoot itself, but there will be requirements for the transformation.

First of all, the game needs to be completed first, since the event will unlock only with the tag in the main story, "come back when your story is complete." In addition, the player needs to collect all peyote buttons first to activate the event. Meanwhile, additional requirements need to be met to collect the golden peyote – it can only be found on foggy or snowy Tuesdays, between 5:30 a.m. and 8:30 a.m.
