Someone is very excited about "Guardians of the Galaxy 2."

Chris Pratt, the actor who portrayed the role of Guardians leader Star-Lord/ Peter Quill in "Guardians of the Galaxy," told Digital Spy that he and screenwriter-director James Gunn have been talking about the sequel to their 2014 box-office hit and admitted that he likes the plot for the next film.

"What I will say is that his pitch and his idea legitimately put tears in my eyes. It is so good. It's so good," Pratt shared. "And I cannot wait to get started on it and I cannot wait for people to see what he's gonna to pull off with the second movie. It's gonna be so, so big and so good."

It seems like the actor is not the only one impressed with Gunn's plan for the second "GotG" movie. According to Pratt, even the bosses from Marvel love the new script, and they are supporting it all the way.

"From what I understand, they were like – they heard it at Marvel and they said nothing. They were like, perfect. There was no micromanaging of the idea. They just loved it so much that they didn't have a note for it. It's going to be remarkable," the actor stated.

Gunn started pitching his ideas for the sequel immediately after the first movie was launched. The filmmaker/ scriptwriter shared in an earlier interview that "Guardians of the Galaxy 2" will be different from the story written in the Marvel Comics. Marvel Studios initially thought that the plan is "risky," but they still gave it a go.

He reportedly worked on the story treatment first, then worked on the script for 48 days, after which he informed his Twitter followers that the first draft is finally done. Not only did he stoke fans' excitement but he also dropped a hint that the sequel would have a title. Although he did not divulge this bit of information, the director did confirm in his Facebook account that Star-Lord's father will be in the film, but he is not named J'son as he is in the comic books.

"Guardians of the Galaxy 2" is slated for release on May 5, 2017.
