'Guardians of the Galaxy 2' cast, trailer, plot: Earth to feature more than in first movie to accommodate Daddy Quill reveal?

"Guardians of the Galaxy Vol 2" might spend a longer time on Earth than the original did, as evidenced by a video from the production shared by someone named Allison Parker Hill.

The clip features the movie's set in Cartersville, Georgia. In the clip, extras can be seen doing a take wherein they run away from something unseen.

The sound effects suggest that their pursuer is something really huge. This monster, when added in the
"Guardians of the Galaxy Vol 2" post-production, should throw away the cars in its way like they weigh nothing.

According to What Culture, this video could be a flashback that will explain who Peter Quill's dad really is, considering it is set on planet Earth.

As director James Gunn emphasized, "Guardians of the Galaxy Vol 2" will center on the revelation of the identity of Star-Lord's father. Rumors say that Kurt Russell, who is one of the many new additions to the film, will play that role.

This scene may also be set in the present and that a character, presumably Star-Lord, pays a visit to his hometown. This might also lead to the revelation of the identity of his father.

In other related news, Gunn was visited by important people during the production of "Guardians of the Galaxy Vol 2." First, his parents watched him do what he does best. The set visit was Gunn's treat to his mom for Mother's Day.

Not long after, director Jon Watts, who will be helming the highly anticipated "Spider-Man: Homecoming," stopped by to see Gunn make directing magic.

Gunn recently updated fans on the production for "Guardians of the Galaxy Vol 2." On his Facebook page, he said that Russell and Pom Klementieff, who is playing the role of Mantis in the film, "have been bringing it hard." Along with the post is a sketch of Mantis. He also teased something about a new character, presumably that of Russell's.

"Guardians of the Galaxy Vol 2" will hit cinemas May 5, 2017.
