Production for "Guardians of the Galaxy 2" is moving along. The sequel to the epic superhero film from Marvel will be filmed in Atlanta, as indirectly revealed by director James Gunn in an "impromptu" Q&A on his Facebook page.

One user asked the director if he intends to visit DragonCon, a well-known multi-genre annual convention set in Atlanta, Georgia.

Gunn then answered, "Maybe. I'm gonna try. Because we're filming in Atlanta, I hope it works out for my schedule."

This means that "Guardians of the Galaxy 2" may be shot in the Pinewood Atlanta Studios, the location Marvel's "Ant-Man" was filmed in. The first "Guardians of the Galaxy" was filmed in Longcross Studios and Shepperton Studios, which happens to be under the belt of the Pinewood Studios Group based in the U.K.

Storyline-wise, it is highly likely that all the ragtag group members will be back: space adventurer Peter Quill a.k.a. Star-Lord (played by Chris Pratt); the ever enigmatic alien diva Gamora (Zoe Saldana); fan-favorite treelike-humanoid Groot (voiced by Vin Diesel); the always angry Drax the Destroyer (wrestler Dave "Batista" Bautista); and the expert gun-toting marksman Rocket Raccoon (voiced by Bradley Cooper).

Gunn has also shared his plans to divert from the comics and introduce a big-screen version of Peter Quill's father in "Guardians of the Galaxy 2." Apart from this, it also looks like a new superhero will be arriving. For a while, it was thought to be Captain Marvel, who is getting a film of her own soon. But the director shot down the rumors pertaining to her inclusion. More speculations point to Adam Warlock, Mantis, Moondragon, and Phyla-Vell, who all appeared and held big roles in the comics that "Guardians of the Galaxy" was based on. Characters like Nebula (Karen Gillan), The Collector (Benicio Del Toro), Yondu (Michael Rooker) and Kraglin (Sean Gunn) are also said to fight alongside the squad in the sequel.

More on the casting for the film, it is speculated that Al Pacino was tapped to play a role. This was after reports claiming that the Academy Award-winning actor had talks with Marvel Studios President Kevin Feige. Besides, Gunn's blatant interest to work with him would have given away his alleged participation, too.

"Guardians of the Galaxy 2" is set to hit the silver screen in July 28, 2017.
