The New Year was quite a blessing for one "Guild Wars" fan and player since despite her house burning down back in December, the developers of the game have given her aid enough to rebuild her home.

Laura Hunsucker's house burned down on Dec. 13, 2017 due to an unfortunate faulty electronic accident. Luckily, her father and some of her pets were safe, but the same cannot be said for the house and her things. Most of Laura's belongings were destroyed in the fire, leaving her with almost nothing, and one of the few things she was able to save was a copy of "Nightfall," which was an expansion for "Guild Wars," her favorite game.

This was after being able to return to the house after several weeks as per the fire brigade's instructions. Laura then posted her finding "Nightfall" among the ashes to Twitter and even tagged ArenaNet, the developers of the game at her friend's insistence. They then saw the tweet and sent a direct message from the development studio's social media coordinator, asking for Laura's address to send her a t-shirt.

But, it was not just a t-shirt which Laura received. Instead, it was a box containing $3,500 as a donation for Laura's $5,000 crowdfunding campaign in order to rebuild her house. Moreover, she also received a complete set of "Guild Wars" and their expansions, including "Guild Wars" and its expansions "Factions," "Nightfall," and "Eye of the North," as well as expansions for "Guild Wars 2," "Hear of Thorns," and "Path of Fire," as a loyalty award for Laura. The developers even signed the copies of the games they sent to her.

"It was a magical thing opening that up and seeing all my beloved games. That's not to mention the t-shirt and the swag bag. All of these were signed. Thank you is so inadequate. It's all I got. Thank you for me and my family and everything. I didn't expect any of this," said Laura.

Since then, Laura was able to exceed her $5,000 crowdfunding goal for her house repairs, to which she gave her gratitude by saying, "To have the 'Guild Wars' community come up behind me so strongly and so positively, it's a blessing without price. It's priceless."
