Gust and Koei Tecmo recently released a new trailer for "Atelier Lydie & Suelle: Alchemists of the Mysterious Painting," which is the 19th installment in the Atelier game franchise.

In the new trailer, several scenes show the highlights and the gameplay features of the upcoming game, as well as how the characters interact with one another. It also shows how the primary feature of the game, traveling into paintings, works. The trailer was in pure Japanese, but to previous players of the Atelier franchise, the new video is an exclusive treat.

To those who do not know, "Atelier Lydie & Suelle: Alchemists of the Mysterious Painting" focuses on Lydie and Suelle, the game's main protagonists. They are twins, but Lydie is introduced as reserved, caring, and somewhat shy, while Suelle is more adventurous and free-spirited. The sisters' ultimate dream is to own the most successful atelier in the country, and after discovering a mysterious painting, their lives are changed forever.

In the game, the sisters will be drawn into the world of the mysterious painting, where they will find epic adventures and quests awaiting for them. The world inside the painting is also full of rare artifacts and ingredients vital to hone their alchemy business, and in turn, manage the top atelier in the region.

Aside from the trailer, Gust also released three new gameplay videos featuring the battle system on the Nintendo Switch and PlayStation Vita versions of the game.

The first battle video detailed the Combination Battle system found in the game, as well as the ability to synthesize materials to deal damage to enemies or support allies. Meanwhile, the two videos featured the difference of gameplay between Nintendo Switch and PlayStation Vita.

"Atelier Lydie & Suelle: The Alchemists and the Mysterious Paintings" will first release in Japan on Dec. 21 to PlayStation 4, Switch, and PlayStation Vita. The game will see a Western release on March 27, next year in North America and March 30 in Europe on the PS4, Switch, and PC.
