After revealing last April that they are developing a new survival MMO sandbox video game, Sony Online Entertainment finally announced that they will release "H1Z1" for Early Access Alpha on Jan. 15.

Based on the information shared by Sony company president John Smedley, the game will come out in two access levels. One of these is the basic early access package that will be sold for $19.99, while the price for the other access level is still unannounced. That version will reportedly give players exclusive access to a few of the game's mode servers as well as other undisclosed items.

"The difference between the two will be things like access to some of our different game mode servers, which you can get access to by purchasing tickets or earning them as well, and other specifics we'll be outlining soon," Smedley stated.

The Sony exec announced "H1Z1's" release date on Steam through his Reddit account. He also said that the development team has enough time to make sure that the game is bug-free before it comes out in the market.

"Is it going to be a finished game? Absolutely not. If that's what you're expecting, DO NOT BUY EARLY ACCESS. The goal here is to let you in early and help us mold it into a game you want to be a part of for quite a long time," said Smedley.

The gameplay for "H1Z1" is set in the rural parts of the U.S. following the events of a zombie apocalypse. Players need to surpass a number of natural elements, groups of zombies, as well as numerous aggressive survivors to be able to win the game.

On the other hand, Smedley shared another detail for the soon-to-be released zombie survival game.

"We'll be starting out with roughly 64k square Kilometers, but we plan to grow it right away.. and over time create our virtual version of the US post apocalypse. Look for us to start adding land right away post launch," he said.
