Conflicting rumors continue to circulate online about the fate of "Half-Life 3."

While it it has been said that the development of "Half-Life 3" has already crossed into the early days of VR gaming, the upcoming title will not like join the virtual reality bandwagon. According to PC Gamer, a previous interview with Valve writer Chet Faliszek had the Valve employee emphatically denying VR support for "Half-Life 3."

Faliszek has been quoted as strongly saying no when asked if the next "Half-Life" installment will take players into the virtual reality world. Faliszek also apparently discussed that since VR gaming is only in its infancy, the bandwidth requirements and tech specs of VR headsets would be more of a disadvantage for titles like "Half-Life."

Meanwhile, the website noted that although Faliszek said that "Half-Life 3" is not meant for VR, the writer also did not mentioned if the title is being made at all. It has long been reported that Valve's founder and "Half-Life" producer Gabe Newell categorically said "No comment" for any details regarding "Half-Life 3," and that another installment will only come out if developers wish it.

However, lack of confirmed details have fanned the flames regarding the myth of "Half-Life 3." According to KPopStarz, "Half-Life 3" is already in development but is being delayed again and again due to shifting priorities within Valve. The website mentioned that the third "Half-Life" installment is being derailed anew in favor of "Left 4 Dead 3" and "Portal 3." Meanwhile, other observers guess that fans will finally be able to see "Half-Life 3" in late 2017 or early 2018.

"Half-Life 3" has been one of the much-awaited and sought-after titles by fans and observers alike in the gaming industry. The last installment in the storyline, "Half Life 2: Episode Two," was released eight years ago, in 2007.
