The events in the highly-anticipated real-time strategy (RTS) game "Halo Wars 2" will have an effect on the upcoming "Halo" games such as the "Halo 6."

This is what the highly anticipated title's narrative director Kevin Grace implied during his recent sit-down interview with GameSpot.

Seeing that "Halo Wars 2" depicts a portion of what is happening in the game's universe, it will definitely affect the future games in some ways.

"It's absolutely going to have a big impact on what's coming next," he said, but he emphasized that it is still a bit too early to think about what happens in the future.

"But I can tell you for sure that if you played Halo 5, there are some important implications in Halo Wars 2 that you'll be able to pick up on. So we've already got connections that are built in right now. Like I said earlier, bringing the story up to modern day lets us have some pretty big crossovers if we want to have big crossovers," Grace went on to say.

This means that "Halo 6" might feature characters from "Halo Wars 2" and the other way around, which makes the plot more interconnected.

The same can be said for "Halo Wars 2" as even the biggest characters, such as Spartan Locke or Master Chief, might end up appearing there.

As for the gameplay of "Halo 6" itself, not much about it has been detailed yet, although it is well in the works over at 343 Industries.

One thing that fans would like to know is whether or not the sprint feature from "Halo 5: Guardians" will make it to the sequel.

The "Halo" community is divided on the matter as many believe it is beneficial while others argue that it did nothing but ruin the flow of the map and the design and restrict movements, a problem that "Halo 4" did not have.

"Halo 6" is expected to be released in 2018 on the Xbox One and the PC for the first time.
