'Halo 5: Guardians' Ghost of Meridian update: 343 Industries teases new armor set and weapons

The "Halo 5: Guardians" is about to get bigger in the upcoming Ghost of Meridian update. 343 Industries is back with new details about the much-awaited free content.

The Ghost of Meridian update packs in a truckload of goodies like new maps, weapons, skins, armors and emblems but it will also be furnishing "Halo 5" with tweaks and updates on the Forge, the Warzone and Arena multiplayer, sandbox and weapons.

In its latest blog post, 343 Industries treated fans with an up close and personal view of the cool new weapons and equipment coming to the game such as the Tartarus' Gavel and the Hannibal Mantis, which look extremely ominous and capable of wreaking havoc.

Ghost of Meridian is also introducing the ultra rare Steaktacular Emblem, which will surely aid "Halo 5" players in professing their love for a good steak.

There's also a front and back look at the Dynast Armor, a "brawler" armor (pictured above) that caters best to players in close-range firefights. The suit is all about resilience and vigilance. For more details about the aforementioned items, click here.

343 Industries also showed a glimpse of the Mark V Alpha Reflex, the second armor set coming to "Halo 5" via the Ghost of Meridian update. Not much is known about this one yet.

As what has been said, the update is also introducing a new Warzone map called Skirmish at Darkstar, where a maximum of a dozen players can team up against anothr 12-man team for an all-out brawl.

The upcoming map brings an entirely new feel to the Warzone experience, with a variety of unique sightlines, flank routes, and cover pieces that invite you to push across and throughout the map, dodge danger from patrolling vehicles, and perfectly time an attack on opponents. If you've been anxiously awaiting a new place to bust out your finest REQs and lay down destruction, this is it.

As for the release date of the free content, rumor has it that it will all be up for grabs come April. There's no information more specific than that, however.
