'Halo 5: Guardians' December DLC teased - what to expect

343 Industries

343 Industries has given a hidden sneak peak video showcasing some of the content that will be available in the upcoming December DLC for "Halo 5: Guardians." According to a report from Design & Trend, the preview of the DLC can be viewed at the video's two-hour mark in the latest "Halo Livestream" upload [video below].

One of the first things confirmed by the video sneak peek is the return of Forge Mode. This mode allows players to craft their own multiplayer maps that can then be shared to the "Halo 5" gaming community. Along with this is a quick shot showcasing the Space canvas for the game.

New weapons and skin DLC are being added as well.

The iconic M41 SSR Rocket Launcher has been shown to make a return and the video also reveals that the Mark IV helmet will be introduced in the DLC. As stated in the report, some fans have confused this helmet with the one worn by Master Chief in "Halo: Combat" but is in fact a helmet taken from the books and other media outside the games.

Black and gold weapon skins will be made available and it is likely that a few additional skins will be introduced as well.

As stated in a report from IGN, the most recent DLC for "Halo 5: Guardians" added the "Big Team Battle Mode" as well as several multiplayer maps designed for large-scale combat involving numerous participants.

Unfortunately, no official release date for the December DLC has yet been announced, although this is likely to change in the coming days. Fans speculate that the DLC may be made available before the holidays, presumably a week before Christmas in order to prevent the games' servers from crashing during the holiday season.

"Halo 5: Guardians" launched last Oct. 27 and managed to earn a record-breaking $400 million upon launch.
