'Halo 5: Guardians' 'Infinity's Armory' DLC now live

343 Industries

The highly anticipated DLC patch for "Halo 5: Guardians," known as "Infinity's Armory," is now live and accessible in the game. Developer 343 Industries has launched an official page showcasing all of the additions that the DLC includes, such as new weapon REQs and multiplayer maps.

The new arena map is called "Riptide" and is designed as a labyrinth of sand and steel, a world by the Created. There is also a new warzone assault map called "Urban," and as its name suggests, this map is set in a city of Andesia, a world ravaged by the Human-Covenant war.

Added into the game are three new REQ weapon cards. The first two are Carbine REQs: "Rain of Oblivion" and "Blood of Suban." More notable is the Legendary REQ weapon card, which sees the return of the "Halo 2" Battle Rifle. The Battle Rifle is unlocked for both Warzone matches and for Forge maps.

Weapons and maps won't be the only new content as the "Infinity's Armory" also gives players access to the "Achilles Armor" set. In order to unlock this special armor, a player must reach Level 3 in every single Kill Recommendation, and to receive the helmet, which completes the set, a player must reach Level 5 in all Kill Recommendations.

New weapon skills and assassinations are also being added via this DLC patch.

The official notes listed on Halo Waypoint also inform players of the numerous bug and glitch fixes as well as some re-balancing fixes that ensures the game is more enjoyable for everyone across the board. Some of these fixes include updates to the user interface, reduction in the SPNKr Rocket Launchers zoom time, and fixed missing object descriptions in Forge.

"Infinity's Armory" is the third free expansion from the developer, following the release of "Battle of Shadow and Light" back in November 2015 and "The Cartographer's Gift," which launched a month after. More free expansions are expected to release this summer.
