If there is one thing "Halo" fans has gotten close to about the much-anticipated game, it is the fact that a release date has not been decided yet. Microsoft just debunked the rumors that psyched up everybody about the supposed November 2015 rollout of "Halo 5: Guardians."

"The recent rumors regarding the release date of Halo 5: Guardians are false," a Microsoft representative told Game Spot.

The buzz stems from a photo shared by Microsoft new hire, Michael Cavanaugh, on Oct. 24. He took to his Twitter account his genuine excitement in being part of the 343 Industries by posting a photo of himself shoulder-to-shoulder with another guy beneath a countdown clock. The attention of keen observers went straight to the clock flashing "382."

Impressively, fans have right away made out a very convincing explanation on the significance of the number in the development of "Halo 5: Guardians."

According to extra-enthusiastic game fans, if 382 indicates the number of days left before the unveiling of the upcoming first-person shooter video game, then it would reveal a Nov. 10, 2015 release date that falls on a Tuesday. Incidentally, Tuesday is a very important day for game releases. Considering the discovery was rendered wide off the mark, fans are now left with more enigmas.

Conversely, Microsoft Store lists the "Halo 4" sequel for pre-order with a Dec. 31, 2015 release date and a $59.99 price tag. The previous guess may be far off but at least gamers are promised more than a year of waiting for the real deal now.

Meanwhile, fans can look forward to the release of "Halo: The Master Chief Collection" on Nov. 11. Those who purchase the title will also get a 1080p/60fps "Halo 5" beta. Prior to the release, a two-day international "Halo" tournament will take place on Nov. 8 and 9, where $50,000 and the chance to play the beta of "Halo 5: Guardians" await the victor. Demonstration multiplayer matches for "Halo 5: Guardians" will take place. The tournament will be broadcast through the HaloFest Livestream.
