"Halo 5" may not end up being available on personal computer (PC) after all.

Taking a step back, "Halo" franchise director Frank O'Connor recently made headlines for comments he made regarding the possibility of the new game coming to PCs.

O'Connor's comments seemed to indicate that there was at least a chance that the game could eventually make its way to PCs, but now he says that people may have misinterpreted him.

Since then, O'Connor has spoken out on Twitter to clarify what he meant to say with those comments, reported IGN. According to him, he simply issued the same answer he had been giving in recent years whenever he was asked about the matter, meaning it had no real significance.

O'Connor described his comments as being "noncommittal" with regards to the game eventually making its way to PCs.

In addition to O'Connor, Xbox marketing executive Aaron Greenberg also chimed in to clarify the matter even further. Greenberg was even more definitive with his statement, flatly indicating that the game would be exclusively available for the Xbox One and that the rumors about it coming to PC in the future were false.

A fan on Twitter then indicated that Greenberg's comments were contradictory to what O'Connor said, to which the franchise director replied that they were not different and that they were essentially saying the same thing.

O'Connor went on to say that there were simply no plans at present to bring "Halo 5" to PC, Gamespot reported.

What's clear now is that Microsoft and the developers behind "Halo 5" want fans to know that the game will be coming to Xbox One and that is where they should look for it.

Whether the game could eventually make its way to PCs is in doubt now, and it will be best for fans eager to play the game to simply get it for its current platform.
