'Halo Master Chief Collection' arrives: Prepare huge disk space for it!

Finally, the "Halo: Master Chief Collection" has arrived and it has arrived in a big way, literally. The "Halo" new collection of games needs massive space in the Xbox One hard drive and players may not have prepared for it.

"Halo: Master Chief Collection" will eat up 85 GB total in the hard drive — that's 65 GB compressed in the Blu-Ray disc plus 20 GB of update. How could the game be this big?

For one, "Halo" 1-4 comes in HD already. The game is tons better in terms of graphics. The new and improved HD textures are heavy, then there's the other visual upgrades and uncompressed audio, reports Lazygamer.net.

In a message published in Halo Waypoint, Dan Ayoub, executive producer at 343 Industries, said that the update may be large, but they decided "to not cut any corners to save disc space." And why would they, this is the "Chief Master Collection" after all.

The site also pointed out that the collection has four "Halo" games, a complete remaster of "Halo 2" including the all-new audio and new cinematics, all multiplayer maps including DLC and PC maps, as well as an enhanced user interface.

Ayoub continued to say that "Halo" wants to give "the best possible experience and not compromise the quality or features of the collection," which is the reason why the entire collection is over 80 GB big.

"This ensures that you are getting every bit of Halo goodness we can fit in. Our work is not done, however, as we continue to tune, tweak and optimize the online experience to ensure a smooth multiplayer launch. This will continue right up until launch day," explained Ayoub.

Moreover, the game's executive producer confirmed that the Spartan Ops co-op experience for "Halo 4" will be released in December, as well as some technical enhancements. Also by December, all ten episodes will be available already.
