The release of "Halo: Nightfall" in North America is reportedly still unknown, while its European launch is slated on March 17. "Nightfall" is the five-episode live action TV series of the popular game. 

Reports say that the five-episode Xbox Live series will be merged into a  feature-length film coming to DVD, Blu-ray, and video-on-demand. The film is produced by Ridley Scott and directed by Sergio Mimica-Gezzan. The episodes originally aired on Xbox 360 and Xbox One. 

"Halo: Nightfall" narrates the story of Jameson Locke, a legendary man hunter and agent with the Office of Naval Intelligence, which is a powerful and secretive military branch. Locke is a playable character coming to next year's "Halo 5: Guardians." 

In other news, game developer 343 Industries recently announced that they dropped the beta version of the major update for "Halo: The Master Chief Collection."

The developer announced in a blog post that they are on the final testing stage of the content update. The testing will be done internally, skipping the open beta test of the update. They explained that the open beta test will only delay the public availability. Moreover, they narrated some challenges in the major update such as extra series that will come as a surprise, which the open beta version will only spoil for waiting fans. 

Originally, 343 Industries intended to roll out a beta version of the content update since it is a large update that will resolve the bugs and issues that have been haunting the game since its launch in November last year. Although no date has been set yet, the developer said that the update will be rolled out as soon as possible. Apparently, they need more time to check the stability of the update before they roll it out to the public.
