'Halo Wars 2' 'Colony' DLC delayed over bugs, introduces two more achievements

"Halo Wars 2" was launched on Feb. 21.Xbox/Microsoft

The new downloadable content (DLC) of "Halo Wars 2" was expected to arrive last week. However, due to some problems, the release of the DLC has been delayed.

On the game's weekly blog, developer 343 Industries admits that the promised DLC for last week is not yet ready for release due to some bugs.

The write-up gives several updates pertaining to "Halo Wars 2," including information about the Extermination mode, the HCS Summer Preview, the current novels, and the upcoming artwork, to name a few. It also breaks the bad news that "Colony" is not yet ready as originally planned.

343 Industries shared some details regarding the bug that impacted the launch date of "Colony." The showstopper started from the new Skitterer units, which are little symbiotes that can be attached to units and acts as a mini self-targeting turrets and healers.

While the developers were doing the final tests, they noticed that once the attached Skitterer units began to fire on targets, they continued doing so regardless of the range of line of sight. This means that the little symbiotes can continue firing even if the enemy is already miles away. Although this sounds a good tactic, the bug may lead to bad gaming experience for players in the long run.

Nonetheless, 343 Industries assured that its team is on track to release the DLC sometime this week. Aside from "Colony," the developer promised to throw in two more achievements to unlock, namely the "Hunter/Hunted," in which the user hunter captain's taunt ability is 50 times, and "Turrets Everywhere," which allows players to attach 50 Skitterers to squads.

No definite date has been announced for the release of "Colony," but 343 Industries promised to keep their players posted.

Released in February, "Halo Wars 2" is available for PC and Xbox One platforms.
