The date is set for the serial killer to strike. Season 3 of "Hannibal" is bound for TV on June 4 but with a change in timeslot. Instead of Fridays, Dr. Lecter will make Thursday as his new schedule for butchery. The news feels like it should have arrived sooner but good thing show creator Bryan Fuller has ended the blind wait.

The second season of the show ended with a big cliffhanger. Viewers would have ordered the new season right then and there. But now that a date is set, fans are pining more than ever before to know, or at least to confirm, where the madman went as he ran off with Dr. Bedelia Du Maurier. Is the sophisticated killer flying to Paris?

Dr. Lecter, as always, found time for bloodbath before he escaped. Will Graham was left gutted and dying on the cannibal's kitchen floor. But before that, he watched Hannibal slit his daughter's throat. Jack Crawford is likely lifeless at the wine cellar after Dr. Lecter left him with a shard of glass pierced on his neck.

Conversely, all these victims want him dead but the bloodcurdling cannibal is always one step ahead of his foes, and anyone who dares to mess with him only ends up as part of his primetime killing schedule.

Season 3 of the psychological thriller-horror series, based on Thomas Harris' novels "Red Dragon" and "Hannibal," will go for an extreme fusion of the characters and goings-on as it introduces an origin story for Dr. Lecter that is not found on paper. The cast for what is considered the murkiest show in the small screen is getting bigger, with stars like Joe Anderson, Richard Armitage, Nina Arianda, Rutina Wesley and Glenn Fleshler onboard. Zachary Quinto is also set to guest star in the series.

Viewers can expect more scenes of carnage and "get your motor runnin'," as Fuller put it, when "Hannibal" returns for season 3. New episodes will air in June every Thursday at 10 p.m.
