NBC announced that actor Zachary Quinto will make an appearance in "Hannibal" season 3, which means Bedelia (Gillian Anderson) just might have a new patient when the series returns.

In a report posted on The EW, the "Star Trek" actor will appear in at least one episode in the upcoming season. Although his role is still undetermined at the moment, speculations are rife that Quinto will be one of Dr. Bedelia's patients who also happens to be a serial killer.

The 37-year-old Primetime Emmy Award nominated actor is known for portraying the role of Spock in the 2009 "Star Trek" film. He also appeared in several TV series, including "American Horror Story: Murder House," "American Horror Story: Asylum," "Heroes," and "24." Presently, Quinto is a part of another NBC show called "The Slap," where he portrays the role of a man who is being hunted by the furious parents of a child that he hit during a barbecue event.

Meanwhile, Bedelia's true intentions regarding Hannibal Lecter (Mad Mikkelsen) will surface in "Hannibal" season 3. The two of them went to Italy at the end of the previous season, but it is unsure if she is really helping the cannibalistic serial killer or if she is working as a double agent for the FBI. Fansided claimed that rumors are rife about Hannibal's impending imprisonment this season, which could mean that Bedelia may just be acting as Hannibal's friend all along although she really is not his friend.

Aside from Quinto, other new cast additions will be introduced this season, including Richard Armitage as Francis Dolarhyde, Nina Arianda as Will Graham's (Hugh Dancy) new love interest named Molly, as well as Tao Okamoto who will portray the role of Hannibal's aunt Lady Murasaki.

Series showrunner Bryan Fuller shared that "Hannibal" season 3 will combine the elements shown in all the "Red Dragon" book series, except the "Silence of the Lambs."

"Hannibal" season 3 will start airing in summer 2015.
