A well-loved character is confirmed to return in "Hawaii Five-0."

Series showrunner Peter Lenkov revealed that Steve McGarett's (Alex O'Loughlin) witty aunt Deb (Carol Burnett) will return in the upcoming season. The confirmation came when a fan asked Lenkov via Twitter if Aunt Deb will make an appearance in "Hawaii Five-0" season 6. Although his answer was short, fans were thrilled when he replied: "Yes."

Burnett first appeared in the rebooted police procedural drama during its fourth season, when she visited her police officer nephew to tell him that she is battling with cancer. She then reappeared in season 5 when she announced her engagement to an ex mob lawyer after her cancer was discovered to be in remission.

But if McGarrett's aunt is already confirmed to be dropping by the island to make him smile, someone might also break his heart in "Hawaii Five-0" season 6.

By the end of the fifth season, McGarrett's ex-girlfriend Catherine (Michelle Borth) returned to the island. Some viewers are hoping that Catherine would stick around so that the special Hawaiian police task force leader will have someone to be with permanently.

"The first few episodes [of Season 6] include a McGarrett/ Catherine arc that will answer this," Lenkov said in a recent interview with TV Guide. "I can promise you that by Episode 3, there will be a surprise turn in their relationship."

But aside from McGarrett, the series showrunner also mentioned that Chin (Daniel Dae Kim) will meet someone who could be his love interest in the upcoming season.

"Hawaii Five-0" will return for its sixth season on Sept. 25 on CBS.
