"Hawaii Five-0" fans gathered at the Queens Surf Beach in Waikiki on Saturday, Sept. 12, for the show's annual "Sunset on the Beach" event. There, attendees were able to catch a glimpse at the show's stars, enjoy some live music, and watch the season 6 premiere titled "Mai Ho'oni I Kai Wai Lana Malie."

The stars of the series were in full force, and according to Maui Now, Alex O' Loughlin, Grace Park, Daniel Dae Kim, Ian Anthony Dale, Jorge Garcia, and Chi McBride, among others, were there to greet their fans and celebrate the show's new season, which will premiere next week on CBS.

Executive producer Peter Lenkov was also on hand to celebrate the premiere, and he talked about ohana — or family — being a theme in the series and about new love interests on the show.

"Family is a big theme, that ohana spirit, that whole family thing is really what the show is built on," Lenkov said. "It started with the death of McGarrett's father, and he found a new family with the members of Five-0."

When asked why the place names don't match the actual locations where scenes are shot in the series, Lenkov said that they try their best to make everything as authentic as possible when it comes to location, but admitted that "sometimes, we mess up."

For the new season, the producer said that viewers can look forward to great action and character development, and that many things will be happening with some of the characters' relationships that people will certainly enjoy watching.

As for love interests coming to the show, Lenkov confirmed that there will be some new love interests but he kept mum about which characters will be having a new romantic storyline this season.

TVLine reported earlier this month that Sarah Carter will star in a recurring role in season 6 and that she will be someone who catches the eye of McGarrett (O'Loughlin). Chin (Kim) will also be having a new love interest, according to The Hollywood Reporter, and TVLine reports that Julie Benz will be playing the role.

Season 6 of "Hawaii Five-0" premieres on Friday, Sept. 25, at 9/8c on CBS.
