Season 5 of "Hawaii Five-0" saw a lot of developments that make way for new stories for the series' new season. In the finale, fans got to see Kono (Grace Park) marry Adam (Ian Anthony Dale) and the return of Steve's (Alex O'Loughlin) girlfriend, Catherine (Michelle Borth) to the island.

Friday's premiere took audiences back to Kono's wedding, but she and Adam did not get to enjoy their honeymoon as they were beaten up by Gabriel (Christopher Sean), while the rest of Five-0 went on a pirate treasure hunt.

Showrunner Peter Lenkov shared some season 6 spoilers about the new Big Bad and which relationships will be struggling with issues this time around.

Speaking to The Hollywood Reporter, Lenkov said that Gabriel will be a big presence this season and Five-0 will have to deal with him.

"He's not leaving, and he's not going to let Five-0 intimidate him, so he's thrown down the gauntlet," said Lenkov. The showrunner described Gabriel as a "sociopath," but his reason for wanting to take down Five-0 is "not a personal thing."
"He just looks at Five-0 standing in his way," he said.

As for Steve and Catherine's relationship, earlier reports revealed that Steve is going to propose, but things may not end on a good note as Steve will be getting another love interest this season. It is also unknown whether Catherine will be staying on the island for good or whether she'll be going back to the Middle East to continue her mission.

Fans of Steve and Danny's (Scott Caan) partnership will also be happy to know that there will be a hilarious storyline involving the two going on a retreat.

"They've been going to mandated counseling for that partnership, and in order to burn off the hours that they have to put in, they decide to go to a retreat. And it turns out it's a couple's retreat, so they're going to spend a weekend together hashing out their feelings, which is really fun," Lenkov revealed.

"Hawaii Five-0" airs on Fridays at 9 p.m. on CBS.
