"Hawaii Five-0" season 7 premiered with the sudden appearance of a serial killer known as the Chess-Piece Killer. By the end of the premiere, it was revealed that the team's first suspect was just a pawn that the real mastermind was using, and by episode 3, Steve McGarrett (Alex O'Loughlin) will gain assistance from FBI profiler Alicia Brown (Claire Forlani).

According to the synopsis, as per TV Guide, episode 3 is titled "He Moho Hou" which means "New Player," and it is widely speculated that this episode will reveal the identity of the mysterious man shown at the end of the premiere episode. Fans point out that this mystery man closely resembles actor Jack Lord, who played McGarrett in the original "Hawaii Five-0" television series.

The synopsis further reveals that Brown is forced to aid McGarrett in hunting down the Chess-Piece Killer after she finds one of his victims right beside her in her own bed. Given her job as a profiler, she may be able to identify who the killer is based on his killing habits and those from previously caught or monitored criminals.

Kono (Grace Park), on the other hand, will also have her hands full as she deals with an emotional reunion. Kono will reconnect with a former surfing competitor, one she may have been quite close to in the past. This surfer is now a disabled and homeless war veteran and may be going through post-traumatic syndrome disorder (PTSD).

The surfer will be played by Kanya Sesser, known for being a high-end model despite being born without her legs.

Fans speculate that Kono's surfer acquaintance may not be directly linked to the Chess-Piece Killer, but there may be clues that could help Steve and Alicia get closer to solving the mystery of the killer's identity.

"Hawaii Five-0" season 7 episode 3 is scheduled to air on Oct. 7.
