When "Hearthstone: Heroes of Warcraft" launched, Blizzard Entrtainment promised players and fans of the "World of Warcraft" franchise that the title, although still connected to the "WoW" universe, will be greatly expanded with its own new content through patch and updates. Now, the game company will add a new experience for "Hearthstone" players through a new patch. Update 2.7 is set to bring a new game mode and a host of other new features for players. 

The most notable of the new features is the addition of "Tavern Brawl," a new player-versus-player mode that will introduce new, slightly altered rules than a traditional "Hearthstone" battle. However, the new mode has some requirements. For example, players who have level 20 characters are the only ones allowed to enter. Rules will also change each week. In addition, players will only have free admission during the launch, together with a free card pack for the players' first "Tavern Brawl" win. 

Aside from the new PvP mode, patch 2.7 will also add new heroes to the roster already available in-game. According to the announcement, the new heroes will be taken from the characters in "World of Warcraft" and will come complete with animated portraits, introduction to their Hero Powers, personalized game board artwork, match start animations, and custom-themed card backs. 

Although Blizzard Entertainment has already announced the new features of the patch update, the company has yet to name a specific date for the release of the new patch. Most observers say that it will come either this week, the end of June at the latest. The time frame seems to be justifiable, since Blizzard had said that the first "Tavern Brawl" event will occur in mid-June.
