Paradox Interactive has announced that a big update is coming for its World War II strategy game "Hearts of Iron IV."

Although there has yet to be an exact release date, the next major update for "Hearts of Iron IV" is scheduled to arrive later this year. The upcoming downloadable content (DLC) is called "Death or Dishonor" and it is a brand-new country pack. According to Paradox Plaza, it "introduces new National Focus trees for Hungary, Romania, Czechoslovakia, and Yugoslavia, which revolve around navigating the ideological (and physical) land mines of central Europe during World War II."

While it is set to fulfill the goal of Paradox to capture the distinctive wartime experiences of each nation that participated in the war, it will also give players the chance to alter the course of history as they like.

The DLC will come with a free 1.4 Oak update. The whole package will include improvements in air gameplay, which comes with new mechanics that make it easier for players to take their air power to the next level; improvements in the map design and display, which will solve the problem of those who have had a hard time with navigation as it provides more convenience in following the action all over the world; conversion of equipment, such as old units or captured vehicles and gear from enemies; the addition of three new thematic musical tracks and new art for the four focus nations; and new diplomatic and puppet interactions.

As reported on PC gaming website Rock Paper Shotgun, before the DLC is released later this year, Paradox will be taking this time to "deal with some big, complicated and difficult things" that the "Hearts of Iron IV" community has been asking them for a long time.

The "Death or Dishonor" DLC is said to be made available soon on Windows, Mac, and Linux PCs for $9.99, but it will be free of charge to all Expansion Pass owners, according to Flickering Myth.
