European Baptist Mission's (EBM) 50th Jubliee Conference is to be held in Berlin from 30th April to 2nd May. The occasion also marks the 35th Missionary Activities in South America (MASA).

The conference entitled “Heaven Touching the Earth” will begin with a worship service on the evening of 30th April in the Baptist Church Berlin-Schöneberg, devoting the heart of gratitude to God for His guidance in the past 50 years. During the day on 1st May, mission lectures and conferences are scheduled. To enable effective communication, ministers will be divided into small groups according to the languages they use. Music worship is to be held on the second evening to provide visions and hope for all the Baptists to gain strength for the future.

On Sunday morning, to highlight the theme of the European and African missions, 30 churches in Berlin and Brandenburg will do a special mission worship service at the same time. Finally, marking the end of the conference is an open-air sending worship service for dispatching Baptist missionaries.

In 1954 several Baptist unions in Europe joined together to form the EBM (European Baptist Mission), to embark on a common mission in Africa. In 1979 MASA (Missionary Actions in South America) and EBM joined forces. Today 17 European Baptist unions are members of EBM/MASA.

EBM is engaged in missionary activities in five South-American countries and seven African countries including Cameroon, Sierra Leone, the Central African Republic, Equatorial-Guinea, the Republic of South Africa, Mozambique and Malawi.

In general, it assists national partner-unions in these countries by sending missionaries and providing support for the ministries of education, medical care, and evangelism and church-growth. The common purpose of the missions is to reach people with the Good News of Jesus Christ and to assist them in their spiritual and material needs.
