Recent rumors claimed that the forthcoming "Batman v Superman" movie will be split into two parts, similar to other superhero films nowadays. However, Superman actor Henry Cavill quickly debunked the hearsays, claiming that the film will stick to its original plan and will be released in 2016. 

The rumors were sparked by a photo published by gossip website Ain't It Cool News, which it claimed was from the upcoming "BvS" teaser trailer. The said trailer is said to be shown at the screening of another Warner Bros. film, "Jupiter Ascending," bound for release on Feb. 6. 

Based on the photo, "Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice" would be split into two films. The first film, entitled "Batman v Superman: Enter the Knight," will be shown on Oct. 23, 2015, while the second installment will hit theaters on the previously announced premiere date, March 25, 2016. 

However, entertainment website Variety caught up with Cavill during the BAFTA event, and claimed the reports were bogus. 

Although some waiting fans were angered by this alleged marketing ploy by the producers, Cinema Blend stated that it makes sense to split the films in two. The first film will focus on the arrival of Batman in the scene, played by Ben Affleck. It will also establish the story, especially on the key conflict between the two. Meanwhile, the second film will be used to highlight the resolution as well as expand the film and introduce well-known DC characters like Wonder Woman, Aquaman, Cyborg and Flash. 

Splitting the film in two or three parts is no longer new as a number of films have already done that. It is also understandable that a number of people were misled by the reports since leaks and spoilers described the film as a "Justice League" prequel with additional characters. Thus, it's quite hard to imagine how director Jack Snyder would squeeze a number of plots in two hours.
