A new multiplayer online video game has officially been released by video game developer and publisher Blizzard Entertainment, Inc. last June 2.

Called "Heroes of the Storm", the new MOBA video game was launched for the Microsoft Windows and the OS X platforms. Its developers referred to the game as an online "Hero Brawler".

Blizzard Entertainment is known for developing such games as Warcraft, StarCraft and Diablo. Heroes from these games also appear in the Heroes of the Storm.

The new online video game, which is operated through battle.net, focuses on a battle between two teams, each consisting of five characters or heroes. The goal of the game is aimed at destroying the base of each team. There are about thirty seven heroes in the game, according to a report.

Gamespot reported that the new game has seven unique maps such as the Garden of Terror and The Haunted Mines. Players will have the chance to choose whether they would like to play with or against computer-controlled heroes.

Each character has its own unique power and capabilities. Players must work together within a team to destroy the opponent's base. In Heroes of the Storm, players will also have the chance to increase a hero's strength and abilities by gaining what the game calls a "talent point".

Players can also make use of different creatures in the game such as riding a horse, which will allow the players to move quickly.

Gamespot said the game "is yet another example of the quality we expect from the developer: ideas that have been explored elsewhere are given a level of refinement and accessibility that makes the eventual result nigh impossible to dislike."

"Heroes of the Storm is fantastic, assembling Blizzard's colorful characters into a highly absorbing tactical arena game." Gamespot added.

The newly released game had received a 6.5 out of 10 points by IGN. GameRankings, on the other hand, gave the game an 85.14 per cent.
