'Heroes Reborn' update: Full-cast trailer, plot details revealed

Heroes Reborn

The first look of NBC's returning series "Heroes Reborn" was recently released by the network, showing what fans should look forward to when the highly popular sci-fi series returns to the small screen this fall.

The trailer shows the old and the new characters of the resurrected series, who will all interact five years after the original "Heroes" characters publicly declared their powers at the end of the series finale in 2010.

Some of the original cast members from "Heroes" who are set to return in the reboot include Jack Coleman as Noah Bennet, Greg Grunberg as Matt Parkman, Jimmy Jean-Louis as The Haitian, as well as Hiro Nakamura, the well loved character of Masi Oka.

The Heroes will have to go in hiding after the town of Odessa in Texas is destroyed. The survivors of the massive terrorism attack blame those with supernatural powers for the destruction of their town and the loss of their loved ones, and people are hunting them for revenge.

Some of the people who have grudges against the heroes include Luke (Zachary Levi) and Joanne (Judih Shekoni), who want those with powers to pay for their loss.

But aside from the original Heroes, a number of people are starting to find out that they also possess special powers, and they have to hide their special abilities to save their lives, including American teenagers Tommy (Robbie Kay) and Malina (Danika Yarosh), the Japanese young woman Miko (Kiki Sukezane), as well as former soldier Carlos (Ryan Guzman).

But before the 13-episode series reboot premieres this fall, the cast and writers of the show will head over to the San Diego Comic Con 2015 to answer panel questions pertaining to the series. They will also debut several footages from the pilot episode during their SDCC exhibit.

"Heroes Reborn" will premiere on NBC on Thursday, Sept. 24.
