Hideo Kojima's top 5 movie picks for 2017: 'Paterson,' 'Ma' Rosa,' 'Logan,' and more

Game creator Hideo Kojima took the time off in making "Death Stranding" and went on his Twitter account to discuss his top five films for 2017. Out of 150 films he has watched, Hideo Kojima picked his top five films and shared it with his fans on Twitter.

"Blade Runner 2049" took the fifth spot of Kojima's picks. Starring Academy Award nominee Ryan Gosling, "Blade Runner 2049" is the sequel to the 1982 film "Blade Runner" that starred Harrison Ford. The story follows Officer K (Gosling) as he uncovers his past in the dark, desolate future.

Number four on Kojima's list goes to "Shape of Water." Directed by Guillermo del Toro, the movie follows the mute Elisa (Sally Hawkins) as she befriends a captured amphibian creature inside a high-security government laboratory where she works. Elisa, later on, falls in love with the creature and plans on setting it free. The movie was widely praised by critics and was even hailed as del Toro's best film since "Pan's Labyrinth."

Number three on Kojima's list goes to the "Wolverine" movie "Logan." The movie follows the aging Logan (Hugh Jackman) as he tries to protect his daughter Laura (Dafne Keen) from the evil Alkali-Transigen – the scientific group responsible for causing the near extinction of mutants. "Logan" is the final "Wolverine" solo film. The movie is also the last portrayal of Hugh Jackman as "Wolverine." According to sources, the movie garnered $616 million worldwide

The second spot on Kojima's top five movies of 2017 goes to the 2016 Filipino film "Ma' Rosa". The movie follows Rosa (Jacklyn Jose) and his husband as they sell drugs to make ends meet. The story depicts the widespread poverty in the Philippines.

Finally, the number one spot on Kojima's top five movies of 2017 belonged to "Paterson." The movie stars "Star Wars: The Last Jedi" actor Adam Driver as a bus driver named Paterson who also aspires as a poet.
