The original leads stars of the hit Disney TV-movie "High School Musical" – Zac Efron and Vanessa Hudgens – will reportedly make cameo appearances in "High School Musical 4."

The upcoming film, announced early this year, will introduce a new set of Wildcats. However, it appears that Troy and Gabriella's love for East High might lure them back to the hallways of their beloved high school.

As per the latest reports, the pair will drop by in High School Musical 4" as alumni members of the East High where they were known individually as a basketball star and scholar respectively and musical superstars.

If this will happen, it will undoubtedly be a perfect way to catch up to the couple known as Troyella and what have they've been up to since they graduated high school.

Fans will remember that a few months back, the original cast of "High School Musical" save for Efron reunited to commemorate the 10th year anniversary of the first film.

Hudgens, Ashley Tisdale (Sharpay Evans), Monique Coleman (Taylor McKessie), Corbin Bleu (Chad Danforth) and Lucas Grabeel (Ryan Evans) were all there to catch up and share memories.

Efron was not able to attend due to a commitment to a project, but should he reprise his role in "High School Musical 4," it will definitely be a joy to fans.

As for Tisdale's possible return as the "fabulous" Sharpay Evans, the actress has already said that she won't be in the movie and that the three films are more than enough.

"High School Musical is part of Disney Channel's DNA," Disney Channel President Gary Marsh said earlier this year as he announced the fourth film.

"It embodies all that we stand for. As a way of continuing to embrace that heritage, we're excited to announce 'the start of something new' as we launch a search for a new class of East High Wildcats to star in a fourth installment of the 'High School Musical' franchise," he went on to say.

"High School Musical 4" is also set to feature more of the Wildcats' rivals – the West High Knights. As for the release date, it is rumored that a 2017 launch is planned.
